This is a work-at-home position with occasional travel requiredAs a Senior Business Analyst on the Customer MDM project, the applicant will take a leadership role and leverage a strong banking/financial industry business knowledge background to elicit, analyze and rationalize business requirements for the enterprise data initiative (EDI). The objective of the EDI is to create an enterprise/360 degree view of the bank’s customers that ranges across all lines of Consumer and Commercial business. Areas of coverage include business, data, and functional requirements; business and data translation rules; and information delivery requirements. The role requires close partnership with the business stakeholders, targeted consulting engagements, technology teams, and other project teams within the SDLC process groups.Scope of Role: A leadership role that will that will mean leading a team of analysts to elicit, document, analyze and rationalize business requirements from participating businesses. Identify when and where MDM services should be applied to the business processes and requirements. Define what data should be mastered in the Customer MDM solution and document the metadata information associated to customer data (including the documentation of business data definitions and rules). Represent business users and champion their needs when discussing potential implementation solutions including business process reengineering.Lead the analyst team in the review of existing logical and physical data environment to understand the "as is" environment. Document customer centric data flows and assist in development of the MDM data models (both conceptual and logical) and design and conduct data profiling. Develop system integration plans that will create a centralized customer data repository.Provide input to standards, guidelines and processes to consistently address recurring strategic enterprise master data issues such data governance, data convergence, master data definition, metadata acquisition, data standards and data integration/synchronization.Collaborate with inter-disciplinary, cross functional teams to help identify and evaluate implementation solutions for an Enterprise Data Strategy and associated infrastructure. Primary duties will concentrate on MDM Customer data, integrating it with consistent and standardized transaction data in an enterprise data warehouse. Work with modeling teams to develop customer components of an enterprise business data model and interact with BI teams to define data access paths (dimensions) for customer data. Periodically participate in forums and venues commensurate with the significance of an Enterprise Data Initiative.Deliverables: Core deliverables will be focused around the development process (requirement documents, test plans, stake holder documentation, etc.) associated to the creation of the Customer MDM solution. This will include leading the team in the documentation of business requirements that are decomposed to their atomic level, definition and execution of test plans based on an iterative process, creation of data standards, definitions and rules to be used by the Metadata team in a metadata repository tool (that will include business data definitions and business data rules).Additional deliverables include meeting/presentation materials, project plans and status reports/steering committee updates. Some of these will be done in concert with targeted vendor engagements.Qualifications Experience/Skills:The applicant should have a Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science or Information Technology and 5+ years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, banking is preferred.
